How To Claim Coverage Requests
Who Uses Our System
Publicists, record label reps, presenters and musicians will request coverage (album reviews mostly, and later concert coverage and interviews) by posting them here. Their how-to page is here. You may want to review their page to understand how we present our system to them.It's Purpose
The Coverage Request system was designed to improve communication, efficiency and the chances that the requesting individual or organization receives All About Jazz coverage.For some, it's business as usual
For those who are contacted directly via email about coverage, nothing will change unless you are looking to review more music.Getting Started
Initially, I will ask that you bookmark the Coverage Request page (which is also accessible from your Contributor Start Page). We are considering sending all featured staffers a website message alerting them to new requests.How It Works
- You are free to claim an open request.
- You can claim or decline a request that is emailed to you through the system. However, before claiming or declining a request, visit the Coverage Request page, read about the album, and then visit the album page. If available, watch a video or listen to the audio player).
- You are under no obligation to claim requests.
- Requests that go unclaimed will expire after 30 days.
- Once you submit your review, place the Request Code number in the Request Code box on the article submission form. When you do, AAJ will notify the requester the moment the article is published. We'll also move your claim under the "Published" tab.
- You are free to post notes about your claim. For instance, the projected submission date or communication notes with the requester.
Publisher Involvement
From this point forward, do not forward email requests you receive to me; rather, direct them to this page to submit a request. I'm stepping away from coordinating album reviews and this system will replace me. I will, however, monitor the Coverage Request page daily. I can also modify a request, reverse a claim and add notes.If you have any suggestions on how to improve the system, email me.
