Amoureux du jazz or jazz lover if you want!
About Me
Born in 1960 in Paris, I was captivated from childhood by the images of Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Ray Charles that graced television screens during Christmas Eve broadcasts. Jazz entered my life through the grandest of doors. I pursued formal music studies at the conservatory before embarking on the adventure of France’s first free radio stations. My path then led me to Belgium, where I earned a Master’s degree in media communication.
From the free radio movement, I gradually transitioned to national radio, then to the specialized press. Beyond journalism, I have also been a playwright and theater director, deeply passionate about contemporary art and surrounded, since my adolescence, by musicians, poets, and writers. As an independent journalist, I have always sought to preserve my freedom of expression and editorial choices.
Twelve years ago, alongside my wife, the singer Ilene Martinez, I founded Bayou Blue Radio, through which we have cultivated a distinctive folk/jazz style. I collaborate with the English magazine *Paris-Move*, the French blues-specialist publication *ABS*, and now have the honor of contributing to *All That Jazz*. Fortunate to work closely with some of the finest European, American, and Canadian record labels, I do not define my boundaries by genre but rather by the pursuit of excellence.
My preferred album format: CD/Vinyl

My House Concert Story
I've played many jazz artists at a venue that's been famous for years called “Le Palais” in Le Mans, France, the home of the 24-hour race. I regret that period and I'm going to try to reproduce it here in the USA, to find a small venue for memorable concerts.
