My Jazz Story

I love jazz because it incorporates so many different sounds. I was first exposed to jazz while watching the movie Ragtime. I fell in love with ragtime jazz. I met musician John Reid from Calgary, Alberta, who is also a dear friend. The best show I ever attended was Manhattan Transfer, if you classify that as jazz. The first jazz record I bought was the Preservation Hall Jazz Band Greatest Hits. My advice to new listeners is to explore all the different genres of jazz.
