About Me
Gioele Pagliaccia is a drummer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator raised between Italy and the
United States.
Recognized for his versatility, he has collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as Joe Lally
Rosa Brunello (Dee Dee Bridgewater) , Gianni Gebbia, Danilo Gallo, Alfonso Santimone, Will Bernard (Don
Cherry, John Medeski, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Tom Waits), and many others.
Leader of the quartet Aut to Lunch, the only ensemble in Europe dedicated to reinterpreting the music of Eric
Dolphy, and the hammond and drums combo IL DUO, he is appreciated both in the jazz scene and in rock and
experimental music.
Since 2019, he has been a permanent member of the pioneering Afro-futurist group Idris Ackamoor & The
Pyramids, with whom he has toured Europe and recorded the album Shaman! (Strut Records) at Malcolm
Catto’s London studio.
Alongside his performing career, he is deeply committed to music education. For over twenty years, he has
been teaching drums and percussion both privately and in institutions such as music academies. He leads the
project “TUTTO SUONA”, a percussion workshop using instruments built from recycled materials, and
“RADICI FLESSIBILI”, drum seminars for professionals. He also promotes ensemble music in schools in
collaboration with the Museum of Music. Recently, he launched a project at the Juvenile Justice Center of
Bologna to support young inmates through music.
