My Jazz Story
Why I love jazz? I grew up with it, and it's always appealed to me.
Simple as that.
I was first exposed to jazz when I was about 6 years old. My
grandfather
had Kind of Blue on vinyl and I sat and listened to it pretending to
play the trumpet.
I started playing bass when I was 10 years old... I took lessons and
began to play with some locals.
I play in two jazz quartets:
re:Group, my main project. We play music inspired by people like Nils
Petter Molvaer, E.S.T, Portico Quartet and John Scofield, kind of a
blend of new modern jazz and hard-hitting grooves!
The other one is the TUP jazz quartet, we play in the more
"mainstream" realm, at cafès, resturants and stuff like that. We Play
mostly standards, with our own little twists:
