I love jazz because it reflects who I am and the values I stand for, such as democracy and freedom. I was first exposed to jazz hearing Dave Brubeck Take Five album when I was a teenager. I was hooked instantly. The best show I ever attended was UZEB the Reunion at the Montreal Jazz Festival 2017. The first jazz record I bought was Take Five by Dave Brubeck. My advice to new listeners is what sounds good to others may not necessarily meet your own taste. What is called a "classic" album is no guarantee to please your ears. Just listen with an open mind to a lot of different jazz bands and for sure you will find music that fits you own personality.
