Groovosophers
The Groovosophers band was formed in Krakow in March 2023, continuing the tradition of the Goddard Quartet/Quintet band, founded in 1997 at the jazz workshops in Chodziez. Over the years, musicians have met in various lineups and musical genres, and in 2023 they decided to fulfil their dreams and combine their strengths, creating their own energetic material together.
In July 2023 and 2024, the band played at the Night of the Museum at the medieval castle Pieskowa Ska?a in Su?oszowa. In April 2024, Groovosophers was a part of the celebration of the opening of the Improwizacja Jazz Club in Krakow and as guest, Leszek ??d?o on soprano saxophone joined the band on stage. In September 2024, the band played as a headliner on the 8th Hammond Kielce Festival. The band plays energetic concerts in jazz clubs around.
In November 2024, the band recorded their debut album with the guest appearances of Satish Robertson on trumpet (NYC/James Carter Quintet) and Patryk Zakrzewski on percussion and is going on a tour with them promoting the album in 2025. The album consists of 8 original band’s compositions and a tune from John Scofield in an unusual drum’n’bass arrangement.
A painting by Agnieszka Koncewicz-Sambor (https://hotstrawberry.pl) is used on the cover of the album.

Groovosophers, or maximum jazz But it gives a kick!
If I listened to this music blindly, without knowing the authors, I would aim for a group from the east coast of the USA. Why? Because I hear in their music crystal joy of playing, professional confidence, and in addition great realization. Although this is a clear look towards fusion, the structure of the songs is not overpackaged, there is no question of an intrusive wall of sound, you can clearly hear all the bottoms and mountains, widths and notths. The group's foreground is undoubtedly: bass and guitar
