Hashima

Hashima is a band that was formed with the idea to use the concepts of free improvisation in a Jazz Quartet combo. Improvisations are gravitating around original themes as well as presenting the audience with the specific arrangements of less known compositions that are inspiring the band. The group has a specific sonor quality: double bass, saxophone, drums and a semi-acoustic jazz guitar. Four different instruments and sensibilities are found in a form bared of tradicional genre qualities with the content inspired by a faraway abandoned island in Japan �C Hashima.

Sr?an Mijalkovi? �C Tenor Saxophone. An experienced jazz player, he played in ��Ma?ta Ba?ta�� group and ��Collision��. Studied a clarinet in the Belgrade Faculty of Music Arts. He is also a regular member of a Serbian Military Orchestra.

Aleksandar Hristi? �C Drums. Member of a Belgrade improvisational band��Buran��, a regular player in monthly ��Improve�� sessions in Belgrade. Also involved in movie arts as a graduated student of Danube Movie Academy.

Vanja Todorovi? �C Double Bass. Coming from a few KUD �C ��Cultural Art Society�� folklore music ensembles with a big international experience. Studied with Vladimir Novi?i? �C a renowned Serbian bass player. Studied Belgrade Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Film and Television direction.

Igor Mi?kovi? �C Guitar. Graduated in Belgrade Academy of Fine Arts, classical music department. Studied with Radomir Mihajlovi? �C To?ak, a famous Serbian rock/jazz guitar player. A member of Berklee Umbria 2011 group. Also playing in Soul Jazz band ��Dirty Mind�� in Belgrade.
