King Llama
King Llama is a L.A. based jazz fusion band known for blending modern jazz, progressive rock and other genres with their freedom of improvisation. Founded by guitarist and composer Ryan Tanner Bailey, the group first emerged as a daring trio before evolving into a powerhouse ensemble featuring drummer Luis Briones, bassist Anthony Crawford, and guitarist Billy Paulsen.
Their 2016 debut, Return to Ox, announced their arrival to the music scene. Nearly a decade later, the band expanded its sonic palette with Fata Implexis (2024). Their latest release, Jump Ship (2025), delivers an immersive soundscape drawing acclaim across jazz and progressive fan bases.
Awards
At the top of the fall season of 2025, Jump Ship (2025) has landed as a Grammy Contender for Best Jazz Performance.
