Rupert Gillett Trio

In a completely unique instrumental combination for a jazz-based trio, internationally renowned jazz Cellist Rupert Gillett is joined by Valerie Rathmann on double bass & vocals and Tim Schmiedner on drums. The Rupert Gillett Trio produces a sound which is at times intricate and earthy and at times swinging and funky.
Rupert Gillett is a British cellist, bassist, composer and producer. He is an internationally respected jazz cello player and a specialist in many alternative cello techniques. Over the years, he has performed with numerous ensembles in a variety of genres, both on cello and double bass. He has played concerts and festivals all over the world as well as locations such as Buckingham Palace, the Orient Express and at the Paralympic Games. He has also performed many times on BBC Radio and television and worked extensively as a studio musician.

Freysteinn is a talented musician who has dedicated his career to mastering the art of double bass. He began his studies at Félag Íslenskra Tónlistarmanna (FÍH) in Reykjavík, Iceland and completed them in 2012. The following year, he traveled to Holland to pursue a Bachelor's degree in music for double bass at The Royal Conservatorium of Den Haag, which he successfully completed in 2016.
Not content with just a Bachelor's degree, Freysteinn continued his studies at the Escola Superior De Música De Lisbon ESML in Portugal, where he started his Master's degree in Double Bass.

Andrzej Swies

Andrzej ?wi?s, musician, bass player, composer, studied and received his Master's Degree at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan (2005), as well as at the Jazz Institute of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (2008). His debut on the jazz scene was in 2004 with Pawel Tomaszewski Trio at Cracow's Jazz Junior competition (IInd Prize). He was awarded e.g.: Ist Prize with Pawel Tomaszewski Trio at Jazz Juniors Festival (Cracow 2005) and Bielska Zadymka Jazz Festival (Bielsko – Biala 2006), Grand Prix "Jazz nad Odra" Festival with group Soundcheck (2005) and also Individual Distinction at the same festival (Wroclaw 2008)

Marco Rottoli

His approach to music begins with the study of the guitar; since 2008 he has devoted himself to double bass. In 2016 he graduated in jazz double bass at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan under the guidance of professors Attilio Zanchi, Tino Tracanna, Giovanni Falzone, Massimo Colombo, Pino Jodice etc …, getting the highest marks with a thesis on Bud Powell’s music. He takes part in the 2011 Siena Jazz summer seminar where he studies doublebass and improvisation with Furio di Castri, Paolino Dalla Porta, Drew Gress and Ben Street. He follows masterclasses on improvisation with Ralph Alessi, Michael Blake, Scott Colley, Bob Moses, Franco D’Andrea, Kevin Hays, etc … Since 2010 he has been the leader of several musical projects, from the trio to the septet, as a double bass player, composer and arranger; Among these: Flat Out Combo, Out of Rags Trio, Marco Rottoli Trio (Nicolò Ricci on tenor Sax and Riccardo Chiaberta on drums, with whom he won second prize at Conad Jazz Contest 2014 and performs on the prestigious stage of Piazza IV Novembre in Perugia in the context of Umbria Jazz 2014), RCT (Lorenzo Blardone on piano and Riccardo Chiaberta on drums) with whom he won the first prize in the Chicco Bettinardi 2015 and Marco Rottoli trio (Simone Daclon on piano and Pasquale Fiore on drums). Since 2015 he is a member of the collective Honolulu Records and of the Honolulu Orchestra with Dario Trapani, Marco Giongrandi, Andrea di Biase, Riccardo Chiaberta, Nicolò Ricci, Marcella Malacrida and Gianluca Elia
