Internationally acclaimed, Tony, Emmy, and Grammy-nominated songstress N’Kenge is set to captivate audiences once again with the release of her debut jazz album, CenterStage: Live from the Ella Fitzgerald Festival, dropping this week on all major streaming platforms. Following the sultry release of her single “Bewitched” on August 8, N’Kenge delivers a masterful collection of live recordings from her sold-out performance at the 27th Annual Ella Fitzgerald Festival. To celebrate the album’s release, N’Kenge will host a Virtual Listening & Watch Party on August 22 at 12:00 PM ET. The live recording of CenterStage: Live from the Ella Fitzgerald Festival took place on April 11, 2025, at the Ferguson Center for the Arts. The event honored the legendary Ella Fitzgerald, and N’Kenge’s performance was a dazzling tribute to the icon’s unparalleled artistry, blending elegance and raw emotion. Known for her dynamic versatility, N’Kenge has graced stages around the world, starring in Broadway productions such as Motown: The Musical, Caroline, or Change, and Sondheim on Sondheim. Her impressive résumé includes performances at legendary venues like Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, and The Kennedy Center, as well as collaborations with musical giants such as Wynton Marsalis, Ornette Coleman, and Berry Gordy. Berry Gordy has described her as “the most versatile artist I know.” Praised by critics, her performances have been described as “electrifying” - NY Post “a classically trained diva who can stretch from Broadway to Pop, Soul, and Opera” - NY Times. . Beyond her musical career, N’Kenge is committed to giving back to her community through the N’Kenge Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to mentoring young artists from underrepresented communities. She’s also working on two exciting projects: a Broadway-bound musical about the legendary Dorothy Dandridge and a TV musical dramedy, Black Butterfly, in collaboration with Gina Goff of Goff Productions.
