Considered a living legend in his home country, Pascoal treated the standing room only audience to his unique blend of sounds and instrumentation including his percussionist producing point and counterpoint squeaks from a rubber pig and lamb to huge applause! One of numerous visiting admirers, flutist Rebeca Kleiman demonstrated her serious support for the eighty six year old artist. According to Mr. Pascoal's publicist,... "she (Kleiman) goes a lot to Brazil and she is a big fan. She drove from North Carolina to the Portland, Santa Cruz and Berkeley shows. Hermeto invited her to join the band on one or two tunes, just like that, totally improvised and out of the blue. It was fun!"
El Cerrito CA resident Rafael summed up the entertaining night best. "It was like a dream come true seeing Pascoal! He's like a legend in Brazil and he is a Brazilian! View Slideshow
