The opportunity to combine another public program such as this type of event with our current exhibition in the Changing Gallery, entitled Jazz Then And Now, is always great. It is also another true representation of the diversity of generations creating the music," states American Jazz Museum CEO, Greg Carroll.
This type of interaction with the at-large jazz artist community is somewhat unique in that the program includes participants across the entire spectrum - ranging from high school students to professionals. It's opportunity that allows the American Jazz Museum to realize another facet of our mission," concludes Bill McKemy, the Education Manager at the American Jazz Museum.
The winning composers are as follows:
High School Division: Mack Clay, a student at Lincoln Prep, for his composition Pepinillo Oxidado.
College Division: Ryan Adamsons, a student at the University of Missouri, Columbia for his composition Sandero.
