Rita di Ghent

Rita di Ghent is a musician, lyricist, and composer born in Hamilton, Ontario and comes from many generations of artists. She invented a jazz composing approach called “Sprawl” and was nominated for the Montreal Jazz Festival Prix de Jazz for her originality. di Ghent has also been nominated twice for “Jazz Singer of the Year” (National Jazz Awards). She started her independent record label (Groove/Groove Classic) in 1994. di Ghent has toured world-wide with her ground-breaking approach to jazz. Devoted to empowering others–in particular women–Rita created “The New Moon Sister Society”, regularly facilitating gatherings on Creativity, Storytelling, and teachings in Folk Tales and Traditional Stories.

Hutchinson Andrew Trio

The Hutchinson Andrew Trio (HAT), is a unique voice on the Canadian Jazz Scene. Over the past 8 years this acoustic piano based trio has been bringing their own sound to the Canadian jazz landscape. The Trio is comprised of three-time Western Canadian Award nominated bassist Kodi Hutchinson, CBC Galaxie Rising Star pianist Chris Andrew, and Downbeat award-winning drummer Karl Schwonik. They are the winners of the 2013 TD Grand Jazz Award from the Montréal International Jazz Festival. HAT’s music can be categorized as contemporary acoustic jazz. Hey Rim Jeon

Described as a “brilliant pianist” by legendary saxophonist Benny Golson, a jazz pianist, composer, arranger and educator, Hey Rim Jeon has just released her fifth album as a bandleader, “Groovitude” (Sony/Orchard distribution, October 2022) featuring Multi-Grammy-Award-Winning drummer and producer, Terri Lyne Carrington. “Groovitude“ has been one of the Top 20 albums on the National Jazz Radio Chart for several consecutive weeks.
Ms. Jeon has been featured on numerous TV and radio shows, including NBC’s Weekend Today in New York, and KBN, Korea’s National TV network channel. As leader of her own band, Hey Rim Jeon and Friends, she has performed both nationally and internationally.

Chris Greco

Award-winning composer and performer Chris Greco has followed a path in music of discovery and accumulation. He has composed and performed a broad and diverse range of jazz music, classical chamber, and concert hall music. He draws from the music traditions of the past and the present within the worlds of jazz, non-western music, twentieth century music, American popular music, and the classical music traditions.
As a composer and multi-instrumentalist Greco's development was shaped in Los Angeles. Guided by a broad approach he explored a variety of jazz styles, groups, and changing instrumental formats; duo, trio, quartet, quintet, sextet, and large ensembles. A significant contributor to the mainstream modern/post-modern, and mixed-genre jazz culture of Los Angeles in the '80s and '90s Greco released three recording projects on gwsfourwinds records that represent his broad view and the multi-style directions he explored with jazz-based music.
Chris Greco is a professor of music at Benedictine College. He composes in cycles, maintains an active cyclical performance itinerary, and continues to pursue his broad interests that are woven within a professional life of composing, performing, teaching, research, and recording in jazz, classical, and electronic music.

Lyn Stanley

Discovered in 2010 by world class jazz pianist and legend, Paul Smith, Lyn Stanley entered singing with the world’s most famous accompanist, Paul Smith and his trio, four months after meeting her. Lyn was born in Tacoma Washington, the same birth town as singers Diane Schuur and Janis Paige. Her dad played piano by ear in the style of Erroll Garner, and Lyn was an attentive listener at an early age. She also had a grandfather who was an opera singer and an uncle who sang tenor roles in local theater groups in Long Beach, CA.
