Jukka Haavisto is a new generation bassvirtuoso from Finland. He is a studio- and live musician who currently plays and performs with his newly established focusing on the upcoming release of his debut album and with many different directors, artists, and line-ups such as Jukka Haavisto, Bossapoika, Beat, Bass & Bone, Heiskanen Bayatz Baharat, VENHA sekä Helsinki Headnod Convention.
Haavisto studied at University of Stavanger, Institute of Music and Dance, and graduated as Master of Music Performance & jazz improvisation in 2016. Nowadays he is known for his fretless bass, jazz fusion, and world music fusion compositions, and skillful improvisations.

Based in Helsinki, I am a composer/musician allergic to all sorts of boundaries. My main instrument is the saxophone, as in tenor, baritone, alto and soprano. In August 2013 I finally managed to release my debut album (with ten pianists from the top of improvising Finland: Iro Haarla, Kari Ikonen, Seppo Kantonen, Antti & Juha Kujanp??, Samuli Mikkonen, Aki Rissanen, László Süle, Joona Toivanen and Alexi Tuomarila). Before you could have found me playing with Tsuumi Sound System or Auteur Jazz, for example.??I began my musical studies with the cello at the age of three, and I'm lucky enough to still get to play it from time to time although I definitely can't consider myself a cello player

Aili Ikonen is a versatile vocalist living in Helsinki, Finland. Aili is moving fluently across the diverse field of jazz, folk and pop. She has been touring over Europe and Finland, performing in various venues from significant jazz festivals to TV-shows and has been featured as a soloist for i.a. UMO Jazz Orchestra and Norrbotten Big Band. Aili leads her own group Aili Ikonen Ensemble which gave it?s first performance in november 2011 in the new Helsinki Music Centre. Esa Onttonen

Esa Onttonen is a composer and guitarist living in Helsinki, Finland. He mainly works in the field of jazz and improvised music but is equally at home playing rock riffs on electric guitar or writing a piece for string orchestra. He is a co- leader of groups Gourmet and Gnomus which have released a total of nine albums and performed in Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Morocco, the Netherlands and Russia, in addition to several tours in Finland. His regular collaborators include saxophonist Mikko Innanen, drummer Mika Kallio and pianist Kari Ikonen. Along with Onttonen they are also the founders of the record label Fiasko Records. Onttonen has written commissioned compositions and arrangements for soloists Jukka Gustavson, Mikko Innanen, Anna-Mari K?h?r?, Mirja M?kel?, Jukka Perko, Jenny Robson, Tomasz Stanko, and orchestras such as Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, UMO Jazz Orchestra, Virtuosi di Kuhmo, St

Aki Rissanen, b. 1980 in Kuopio, Finland, is a Finnish pianist and composer. Although originally classically trained he has always had a heart for improvisation and jazz. His studies include classical piano at the Kuopio Conservatory, Finland (1990-2000); jazz music and education at the Helsinki Polytechnic School Stadia (2000-2002); jazz and improvised music at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Paris, France (2005-2006); private lessons in New York, USA and Cologne, Germany (2005-2008) and jazz piano and composition at the Sibelius Academy Jazz Department in Finland (2002-2009), where he received the Master’s degree

Mikko Pellinen

Mikko Pellinen is part of the new generation of jazz in Finland. He started his music studies with electric bass at age of ten. Soon after he became more and more interested in writing music and began to study composing. After high school he continued his studies in the pop & jazz department of Helsinki Polytechnic school Stadia, graduating in 2008. At the time he is doing his Master's degree at the Sibelius-Academy Jazz Music Department, majoring in jazz composition. His composing teachers include Kari "Sonny" Heinil? and Jere Laukkanen among others. He has studied electric and double bass with for example Hannu Rantanen, Ari-Pekka Anttila, Ulf Krokfors and Ville Herrala. As a composer his main focus is on his own group Mikko Pellinen Mini Big Band

Award recipient as the Finnish Jazz Musician of the Year, pianist, moogist and composer Kari Ikonen (b.1973) is currently active with his own trio and several other bands and projects like Orchestra Nazionale della Luna, trio Toffa, Quartet Ajaton and Jeff Denson Trio. He has worked with the likes of Louis Sclavis, Lee Konitz, Bob Moses, Ingrid Jensen, Magnus Broo, Vincent Courtois and Ron McClure. Kari has performed in Australia, South Korea, Japan, USA, Armenia, Turkey, Russia and 30 European countries.
