Lloyd Haber

Born: May 29, 1961

Lloyd Haber- Multiple percussion, composer, producer & educator: Music teacher at Francis Lewis high school. Masters in music and education from Queens College. Founder of Freedom Art Records, Lloyd has two Cd’s out under his own groups “Freedom Art Quartet” and “Bones & Tones.” Leader of group “Eurasiaka.”

A student of the late great Ed Blackwell, Lloyd Has played or recorded with Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, Karl Berger, Bob Stewart, Craig Harris, Louis Hayes, Kalaparusha McIntyre, Charli Persip, Warren Smith, Donald Smith, Bob Stewart, Howard Johnson, Carlos Ward and Ron Burton among others. Lloyd has played all over the world, including performances at the Heineken Jazz Festival, Symphony Space, John Birks Gillespie auditorium and Aaron Davis Hall. Percussion Ensemble clinics at Sam Ash Music and the Long Island Drum Center.

Rob Waring

Rob Waring (1956) grew up in Yonkers and White Plains, New York and lived in Manhattan from 1974 until he moved to Oslo, Norway in 1981. While still in high school, Rob studied with Roland Kohloff, who had just become timpanist of the New York Philharmonic. He then studied percussion at the Juilliard School with Saul Goodman and Elden "Buster" Bailey (1974-79) and received his Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees. During that period, he also took elective courses in composition with Stanley Wolfe. Rob studied jazz vibraphone in 1975 with Dave Samuels. As a freelance musician in New York, Rob worked in symphony orchestras, jazz groups, ensembles for new music, and an experimental ensemble for homemade instruments. He was also a much sought-after accompanist for modern dance.

Tom Collier

Born: June 30, 1948

In a career spanning 60+ years, Tom Collier celebrated his first public performance playing the marimba at the age of 5 in 1954 and marked the 60th anniversary of that performance with a 2014 concert at Meany Hall Studio Theater on the University of Washington campus. The concert featured several guest artists including guitarist Larry Coryell, mallet virtuoso Emil Richards, clarinetist William O. "Bill" Smith, drummer Moyes Lucas, pianist Marc Seales, and longtime musical cohort/electric bassist Dan Dean. After a six year gap between album projects, Tom released "The Color Of Wood" (Summit Records, April 2022) comprised of mostly original compositions written for and performed exclusively on the marimba

Daniel Walzer

Daniel Walzer is an Indianapolis-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and audio engineer. Originally trained as a percussionist, Walzer��s recording discography includes more than two dozen albums as a session musician, engineer, and producer. A versatile collaborator, Walzer��s performance credits span a wide range of commercial and art music styles and include a five-year stint living in Nashville, TN. As a composer and collaborator, Walzer��s work has been featured at the New York Electroacoustic Music Festival, the International Computer Music Festival, New Music on the Bayou, TUTTI New Music Festival, and labels including Janus Music and Sound and others.?Walzer has a BM in Jazz Studies from Bowling Green State University, an MM in Jazz Studies from the University of Cincinnati, and an MFA in Music Production and Sound Design for Visual Media from Academy of Art University

Dillon Vado

Dillon Vado is a professional drummer and vibraphonist in the San Francisco Bay Area, and a graduate of the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley. He grew up in San Jose, where he played many small club gigs on drums and marched snare drum for the Santa Clara Vanguard. He has recorded at Fantasy Studios, and played with many musicians at The Freight and Salvage, Yoshi��s, and the SF Jazz Center. He has also performed overseas at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and the Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy. Dillon has performed with Art Lande, Hafez Modirzadeh, Royal Hartigan, Marcus Shelby, Erik Jekabson, Jeff Denson, Alan Hall, Jovino Santos Neto, Marcos Silva and Kate McGarry

Ed Hartman performs and scores percussive, orchestral, jazz, pop, rock, Latin, world and electronic music. Ed Hartman is a composer in Seattle, Washington, with a widely varied musical background. Ed's recording facility includes a very large array of real percussion instruments (marimba/vibes, hand drums, world percussion, etc.). Originally from Chicago, Ed Hartman is an accomplished composer, performer, and educator. Ed received his Bachelor of Music from Indiana University, and has been involved with the film and music communities in the Pacific Northwest for decades.
