Eli Hershiser

An emerging virtuoso on the New York City scene, Eli Hershiser is a saxophonist, composer, and educator whose sound is a refreshing take on the jazz tradition. Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Eli began playing the saxophone at the age of 10. His early influences included Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon, Joshua Redman, and John Coltrane. Eli earned his BFA in Saxophone Performance at The New School where he was mentored by Dave Glasser, Chris Byars, Marc Mommaas and many more. His vast musical interests have led him to experimental collaborative projects such as the New York Jazz Workshop (NYJW) Saxophone Quartet- a contemporary ensemble led by Marc Mommaas. The group released their first album in the fall of 2021, featuring jazz, classical and contemporary arrangements.

Marley Edwards

Jazz Bassist, Composer, and Bandleader from the SF Bay Area. Born in Palo Alto, CA in 1994, and raised in Redwood City, CA. His music foundation started with Piano and Trumpet, before moving on to Electric bass and then Double Bass. His earliest musical influences include James Jamerson, Paul Chambers, Jaco Pastorius, Thelonious Monk, and Miles Davis. Marley Edwards studied music and composition formally; 4 years as a Music Major at the College of San Mateo and 4 years at the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley, CA, receiving a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies in June 2019. He studied with musicians such as Erik Jekabson, John Santos, Frank Martin, Steve Erquiaga, Dann Zinn, Mike Gallisatus, Chuck Mackinnon, John Gove, Mike Zilber, Alam Kahn, Edward Simon, among others

Chris Greco

Born:
Award-winning composer and performer Chris Greco has followed a path in music of discovery and accumulation. He has composed and performed a broad and diverse range of jazz music, classical chamber, and concert hall music. He draws from the music traditions of the past and the present within the worlds of jazz, non-western music, twentieth century music, American popular music, and the classical music traditions.
As a composer and multi-instrumentalist Greco's development was shaped in Los Angeles. Guided by a broad approach he explored a variety of jazz styles, groups, and changing instrumental formats; duo, trio, quartet, quintet, sextet, and large ensembles. A significant contributor to the mainstream modern/post-modern, and mixed-genre jazz culture of Los Angeles in the '80s and '90s Greco released three recording projects on gwsfourwinds records that represent his broad view and the multi-style directions he explored with jazz-based music.
Chris Greco is a professor of music at Benedictine College. He composes in cycles, maintains an active cyclical performance itinerary, and continues to pursue his broad interests that are woven within a professional life of composing, performing, teaching, research, and recording in jazz, classical, and electronic music.

"Heart, Mind & Spirit" is the new album of Piotr Budniak Essential Group. The title loosely refers to the concept of a human being as the sum of the spirit, soul and body professed in early Christianity and derived from Hebrew philosophy. The assumption of the team is an attempt to capture the essence of human integrity with the whole palette of his feelings, thoughts, beliefs, experiences and struggles. The musical layer of the album differs from the choices made by the band, using, apart from - acoustic instruments - electric and enriching the whole with electronic elements and modern production procedures. Daniel Reyes Llinás

Born:
Daniel Reyes Llinás, Born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1978, Daniel started his formal training with guitarist Carlos Castilla, then continued his studies under Jaime Arias Obregón and Carlos Rocca Lynn at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá. He has participated in workshops with Leo Brouwer, Nik Bartsch, Martin Medeski and Wood, Butch Morris, Bang on a Can, Robert Fripp, and David Torn. Additionally, he has taken private lessons with Fernando Otero, Mary Halvorsen, and Carlos Alomar. Currently, he is studying composition with Ion Marmarinos and Julien Malaussena. Daniel has performed at venues in Europe, North, and South America. Between 2008 and 2017, he led the NYC-based Parias Ensemble, collaborating with Mariel Roberts, Ravi Kittappa, Vasko Dukovski, and Marta Topferova. Between 2017 and 2019, Daniel was a resident composer at Teatro Escarlata in Medellín. His music has been featured in theater, films, and dance performances. Currently based in Portland, Oregon, he performs with the experimental music ensemble Ex.tra.di.tion. Daniel recently released guitar trio album "String Schemas," featuring Elliott Sharp and Harvey Valdes, and the solo guitar album "Códices," co-produced by Trey Gunn. Daniel is a recipient of grants from The Regional Arts Culture Council and The Foundation for Contemporary Arts.

Herve Perez

Hervé Perez is a sound artist/composer from the north of England... plays the saxophones, shakuhachi and laptop in several groups ranging from free-jazz, electro-acoustic improvisation and contemporary jazz.
Sounding out, one of his current projects, is an exploration of architecture, outdoor acoustics and sacred sites - investigating the nature of space and natural topography - through the practice of deep listening. These recordings are documents of in situ improvisations, inspired by the spirit and the special characteristics of a location.
