Last ten years main associations have been with David Murray, William Cepeda Afro-rican Jazz, Morris Goldberg's Ojoyo(safro-jazz)and Hugh Ragin's trumpet Ensemble. Has played with Cecil Taylor Orchestra, Charlie Haden's Liberation Orchestra,Jimmie Heath Big Band, Jimmie Owens Big Band, Liquid Soul, the Groove Collective, Tabou Combo,free-lance with many salsa groups on trumpet and trombone. Omar was the musical director for Cirque du Soleil for a year and a half in Germany, as well he was an original cast member of Fame:the musical.

Freedom Art Quartet

A melodic expression in improvised music fronted by founding members, Percussionist/Composer Lloyd Haber and Multi Wind Player Omar Kabir, who founded the group in 1991. The group's diverse ethnic and compositional structure is a breath of fresh air needed to represent today’s music scene. “Our purpose is to explore and create in depth, the limitless dimensions of the art form.”
