Julie Loveson was born in Oslo, Norway. At the age of 8 she had her debut on the piano in the University-Aula in Oslo. In Vienna she studied classical composition at the University of Music. During an one year educational stay at the University of Miami she studied jazz composition and jazz piano and finalized her jazz education with a jazzpiano diploma from the Franz Schubert Conservatory. 2006 she got the master of arts degree in composition. Audun Aschim Steffensen (b. 1991) was educated at the Norwegian Academy of Music where he earned a Master’s degree in composition and guitar performance. Already at the age of 23, he collaborated with Paolo Vinaccia on Dommedag if?lge Paulus, a work commissioned by Oslo Jazzfestival with the Norwegian Soloist Choir and guitarist Eivind Aarset. He has since worked on many interdisciplinary productions, including Alya-Vijnana for The Norwegian Wind Ensemble with Hanna Rabe as soloist in 2017. In 2018, his work Cryptics for solo percussionist was premiered by KORK percussionist Christian Lundqvist as part of the KORK-Kammer series

Norwegian guitarist Marius Noss Gundersen acquired his education at the Agder Conservatory of Music and the Norwegian State Academy of Music. He studied Advanced Instrumental Studies at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, being the only guitarist to receive a full scholarship for the academic year 2000/2001. He is also holding a Master's degree in Performing Arts from the University of Agder. Marius has had the privilege of receiving tutelage under teachers such as Per Kjetil Farstad, Per Skareng, Sven Lundestad and Robert Brightmore, and has participated in master classes with some of the world’s most prominent guitarists, such as David Russell, Roland Dyens, Marco Socias, the Assad brothers, Peter Sculthorpe and Carlos Bonell

Ivan Mazuze

Born:
Ivan Mazuze is a Norway-based composer, award-winning saxophonist and world jazz artist of Mozambique origin. Mazuze initiated his studies in music in 1987 at the National Music School in his home country Mozambique. Piano was his first instrument and after seven years of classical piano training, he joined the woodwind section with a jazz study approach and a focus on improvisation. Mazuze continued his studies at the University of Cape Town, South Africa in the Department of Jazz and Musicology. He holds an honors degree in jazz and composition studies and is a master's graduate in ethnomusicology. He writes ethnomusicological articles about music and trance in ritual practices which have been released in the educational magazine The Talking Drum.
