Alex Ventling

Alexander Ventling (1994), is a Swiss pianist originally born and raised in New Zealand. After a short stay in New York after high-school, Alex received scholarship at Berklee College of Music, however decided to attend the Jazzcampus Basel. He completed his Masters degree in Jazz Piano and Music Pedagogy in August 2019, studying with many great icons of the field (Mark Turner, Jorge Rossy, Larry Grenadier, Guillermo Klein, etc). Alex started the European Jazz Masters program in Autumn 2020. This personalised music performance degree began at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen and will continue through Berlin and Trondheim.

Strangerous is a new voice in the borderland between noise, ambient, contemporary and everything else that defies normal genre conventions. Rhys Marsh, based in Trondheim, Norway, is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist & producer. He’s a solo artist, leader of The Autumn Ghost, as well as a part of Kaukasus & Mandala. — Solo — In the autumn of 2013, Marsh put out his first solo release — a five-song collection of covers, called ‘Suspended In A Weightless Wind’. Trondheim Jazz Orchestra (TJO) is one of the most important and creative jazz ensembles in Norway. During the course of the last ten years, the orchestra has had a great number of exciting projects with norwegian and international jazz profiles such as Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Joshua Redman, Erlend Skomsvoll and Eirik Hegdal.
Trondheim Jazz Orchestra celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2010. Among the highlights of the year was the anniversary tour with Chick Corea in Norway and Sweden and the releases of the cd's "stems and cages" by TJO & Kim Myhr and "Triads and More" by TJO & Eirik Hegdal w/ special guest Joshua Redman. In March 2011 TJO made their "European debut" when they toured Germany and Austria with Hegdal and Redman.

Pianist Tor E 'Dr' Bekken is a musician who is interested in the whole history of jazz. A lifelong dedication to the art of traditional blues driven piano has given him a mastery of that idiom which few players can grasp, much less deliver. He has a monster left hand which is the mandatory driving force for this type of piano playing, and his right hand soloing and clean technical dexterity present the whole package. At the same time, Bekken works within the field of modern, free improvisation, citing pianists like Don Pullen, Bobby Few and Charles Gayle as central sources of inspiration. Tor E Bekken was born in Drammen, Norway.He has played jazz and blues piano since childhood, and has absorbed all the nuances in the process. He completed a Master's degree in music in 1996, with a thesis on James Booker (shows in his approach) and New Orleans piano traditions. Bekken has worked for US artists such as Eddie Bo, Marva Wright, Benny Turner, Big Al Carson,etc
