" data-original-title="" title="">Shawn Hanlon appears on every Trusedell project, including, Quartet of Jazz Death (Self Produced, 2014), It's All About the Hustle, and the uniformly excellent Some of my Best Friends are... Divas (Self Produced, 2013). This latter release features vocalist Krista Joyce (along with Julie Bradley and Victoria Bruyette), and that accounts for the present Colin Trusedell Trio.

In keeping with the success of Some of my Best Friends are... Divas, the present Without All the Chatter simply picks up where the former left off. Vocalist Joyce is completely in control of this material. Her vocals are seasoned with an experience that expresses with a wholesomely sardonic sexiness. This is best heard on the trio's treatment of Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine," but is equally present on "Black Coffee" and "Gee Baby." Hanlon is a sturdy pianist capable with all styles. And Trusedell? Well, he is the leader isn't he?
