His band, Rubisa Patrol, was formed in the mid-'70s and worked through 1983, traveling to Europe often and recording with ECM Records. After teaching for three years in Switzerland, Lande moved to Boulder, Colorado, where he played a weekly performance for 15 years! Each week had different music and drew from a large list of different bands, members, and seasonal special guests from nearly everywhere. Live performances are not to be missed and are occasionally full of musical adventure, inspiration, spontaneity, warmth, and soul.
Sam Williams
saxophone, tenorSam earned Master of Music degrees in saxophone performance and jazz studies from the University of Northern Colorado in 2011, where he studied with Dr. Andrew Dahlke. In 2013 and 2014, Sam was awarded the Saxophone Fellowship at the Aspen Music Festival, where he appeared with various orchestras and chamber ensembles, presented a solo recital, and performed several U.S. and world premieres. In 2015, Sam was a member of the Hemispheres Saxophone Quartet, a chamber ensemble well-versed in jazz and classical repertoire. Hemispheres traveled throughout China as cultural ambassadors of the U.S. State Department, with performances and masterclasses in Beijing, Tianjin, and Wuhan.
