Even though the themes by Walton ("Firm Roots"), Silver ("Nutville") and Earland ("The Creation") are explicit highlights, Wilson's four compositions stand up well beside them, as does Houston's sumptuous "Intoxicating Beauty," on which his earnest tenor saxophone delivers the lone solo.
