Dr. Narong Prangcharoen Dean of College of Music, Mahidol University, reveals that TIJC is an important event for music development and awareness in Southeast Asia. Since the first TIJC was held, the public has become more aware and appreciative of jazz music. This event inspires musicians to create new sounds, music for jazz society in Thailand and the world. TIJC focuses on the education of jazz, as a key tool to develop jazz in society. The success of TIJC is in the explosion of new jazz ensembles at all levels that has happened throughout Thailand.
“This event is the result of collaboration from Jazz lovers around the globe. There will be workshops and master classes. All participants understand the importance of moving jazz forward and willing to be a part of this event without any hesitation. We never discriminate or leave out any other music institutions. We all come together and feel honored to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. Together we will build a brighter and stronger future for jazz and music industry. With this force, we can see the glimpse of being on an international level in the near future” Dr. Narong Prangcharoen stated the main purpose of this event.
Another TIJC 10th Anniversary organizer, Mr. Darin Pantoomkomol, Chair of the Jazz department at Mahidol University, introduced the headliners for TIJC 10th Anniversary – true jazz “Superstars” like saxophonist
