Si avvicina al cinquantesimo anno di attivit�� l'Aardvark Jazz Orchestra, fondata nel 1973 da

In questo nuovo disco—il decimo pubblicato con la Leo Records e registrato live in varie occasioni—ritroviamo il consueto eclettismo della formazione, capace di passare da quadri in libera improvvisazione a concitazioni rock anche in uno stesso brano.

Per la verit�� stavolta i contrasti sono pi�� smussati e tendono a prevalere compostezza delle forme e astratto camerismo, in quadri dalle linee rarefatte o austere. Il principale esempio �� "Faces of Souls" una composizione lunga 17 minuti e ispirata al primo movimento dei "Three Places in New England" di Charles Ives. Stesso approccio caratterizza "Greta," composizione dedicata alla giovane attivista svedese e incisa in quintetto con Peter Bloom protagonista al flauto. Quest'ultimo lo ritroviamo in evidenza in "Lament For The City," altro brano d'impronta accademica, parte della suite "Healers of the Universe."
