Sì, perché grazie a quel fonografo Arguelles interagisce con alcuni dei suoi eroi musicali incontrati negli anni '80 quando era il batterista della house band al Ronnie Scott di Londra.

" data-original-title="" title="">Steve Lacy, Konitz e Wheeler rivivono in quattro delle nove tracce del disco non come ospiti di lusso, ma come ispirazione, spiriti guida che pelli e metalli di Arguelles sanno accogliere con rispetto e sensibilità. Certo è da pelle d'oca ascoltare il soffio minimalista di Coxhill, la danza monkiana di Lacy, le linee asciutte di Konitz, il lirismo astratto di Wheeler ma il tessuto che le riveste, cucito su misura da Arguelles, è qualcosa di davvero speciale. Come la qualità del suono che emerge prepotente fin dai primi secondi della registrazione, come la cura dei dettagli, l'esaltazione timbrica dello strumento che si intreccia con una poco canonica pulsazione ritmica, dando vita ad una rara esplosione di musicalità.

"A choral solo" recita una piccola nota sul retro di copertina, e come non essere d'accordo!
