Se nel primo caso il tocco è trasparente, il lavoro armonico sofisticato e gli interventi si snodano con sobrietà ed eleganza (si vedano la prima versione di "Mario" oppure "Market Under the Rain") nelle due versioni di "K.M.A." -che aprono e chiudono il disco -tutto è molto epidermico e sbrigativo.

Nei brani con gli ospiti i quadri musicali si fanno più variopinti, mantenendo però una linea intima e introspettiva, con melodie radiose e cantabili: in "Rajan's Song," "Marrakech" e "Ausencia" prevalgono suggestioni etniche, dall'India al Medio Oriente e al Sudamerica; nella seconda versione di "Mario"-in duo piano/violoncello -il clima è cameristico; in "Yellow Fruit" è il jazz a prevalere, sul modello
