Photographer Richard Corman Plans Roadtrip To Benefit Jazz Foundation Of America

Wendy Oxenhorn, Executive Director of Jazz Foundation of America, has launched an Indiegogo campaign. Oxenhorn plans to send photographer Richard Corman, whose photo work spans Bill Clinton to Madonna, and videographer Alan Gastelum across the United States to meet with and profile 50 jazz and blues greats.

“I cannot keep watching such great individuals pass with so few traces of their existence and their work,' said Wendy Oxenhorn, “This project will ensure that we record the many-sided history of this music directly from the people who lived it."

Corman and Gastelum promise to crisscross the continental U.S. beginning January 2016 in search of real deal jazz and blues musicians, immortalizing the names, faces, and voices that lived American jazz and blues history in the past century. In March of 2016, all photos and video will be made available free on the Jazz Foundation website.
