Eccellenti i brani solo strumentali, a tratti un po' verbosi, zavorrati (come accade spesso, del resto) quelli con l'aggiunta di Mtume Gant alla "dizione": si potrebbe sintetizzare così questo album del pianista cubano (ma da oltre vent'anni di stanza negli USA)

Allora diciamo che anche gli episodi con voce aggiunta (tra i quali deve rientrare pure il conclusivo "No Justice, No Peace, Legacy!," dove lo slogan del titolo viene proferito a ripetizione in avvio e chiusura dai membri del trio di base, i "semprepresenti") hanno ampi stralci assolutamente ammirevoli, come avviene per esempio nell'ampio "The Dream That Wasn't Meant to be Ours," di tratto finemente cameristico, come già "Pastor's Paradox," laddove sono attraversati da maggiori fremiti e—periodici—turgori "Turning the Other Cheek No More," intermedio fra i due, e "From Montgomery to Memphis," subito a ruota.

" data-original-title="" title="">Don Byron, e non c'erano del resto dubbi in merito, così come d'altra parte tutti fanno in pieno il loro dovere, con una menzione speciale, proprio per il clima che insufflano nella musica prodotta, per i due violoncellisti, agenti in alternanza, con una presenza non così insistita, ma proprio per questo in possesso di un peso specifico più puntuale. Grande concentrazione e—diremmo—intenzionalità di gesto creativo, per un album, pur con la parziale riserva avanzata all'inizio, di sicuro pregio e mai banale, neanche per sbaglio.
